Clashes broke out between militants and residents after the Hezbollah truck overturned.

At least two people have been killed in clashes between Hezbollah fighters and Christian residents in Lebanon.

According to Arab News, there was gunfire after a militia truck overturned on the road between Beirut and Damascus, killing a Hezbollah member and a 60-year-old civilian.

In the footage shown on television, people in civilian clothes are seen shooting bullets in the street.

One person was injured in the incident, while nearby objects were also damaged.

Lebanese military forces were stationed around the accident truck.

Eyewitnesses say the crates in the truck apparently contained ammunition, but no official statement has been made in this regard.

Hezbollah later confirmed that the truck belonged to them and that one of their members was killed while guarding it.

Clashes broke out between Lebanese soldiers and civilians when the truck was stopped from approaching.

Photographers were also prevented from taking pictures of the accident site as the truck's license plate was covered.

Arab News tried to contact security agencies for more information, but they refused to provide any details as of Thursday morning.

Acting Prime Minister Najib Makati says he has spoken to the commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces about the incident and demanded that the investigation be completed soon.

Hezbollah says the truck left the Beqaa Valley and contacted other members of the organization to help remove it from the crash site.

Hezbollah added that militia members in the area threw stones at the truck and later opened fire, injuring a Hezbollah member guarding the truck.

The injured person was rushed to the hospital, but later died.

The Lebanese Forces political party accused Hezbollah militants of firing directly at civilians gathered at the crash site, killing civilian Fadi Youssef, who tried to rescue the truck driver.
