Former US President Donald Trump has said he wants to change the judge to hear the fraud case in the 2020 election.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social that his case should be moved out of Washington because the residents voted overwhelmingly against him, according to Reuters.

He said there was a possibility that judges would be elected from registered voters.

He said there was no chance of a fair trial in the presence of the current judge.

Reuters did not immediately get a response when it contacted the District of Columbia about Donald Trump's statement.

On August 2, the former US president was indicted for the third time in four months on criminal charges of manipulating the outcome of the 2020 election.

The former president denied the allegations and said the case was aimed at damaging his campaign for the 2024 presidential election.

The next hearing of the case will be on August 28. Judge Tanya Chitkin was appointed by former US President Barack Obama.

Judge Tanya Chitkin sentenced all 38 supporters of the former president who stormed Capitol Hill.

The former president's lawyer, John Lareau, said on Sunday that the former president is confident that he has won the 2020 election.

The former president said that even if he is found guilty as a result of the criminal investigation, he will continue his election campaign for the 2024 presidential election.

Twice-impeached former President Donald Trump has been indicted for the first time in the classified documents case.

He is accused of endangering national security by withholding top secret nuclear and defense information after leaving the White House.
