A boat full of immigrants sank in the English Channel and 6 people lost their lives, while about 50 people were rescued.

According to a foreign news agency, 10 people are missing in this incident.

Officials said British and French coastguards had rescued about 50 people from the sinking, with some people being picked up by lifeboats on stretchers in Dover, but the final death toll was not yet clear.

The Dover rescue ship, which was already in the canal dealing with another boat carrying migrants, joined the rescue operation.

A volunteer on board the lifeboat said there were too many people on board and the migrants used boots to get the water out of the sinking boat.

On the other hand, a French prosecutor told the AFP news agency that the first of those killed was an Afghan man between 25 and 30 years old.

Rescue workers say this is the seventh time this week they have had to pull people from the water.

On the other hand, a trawler overturned in the coastal area of Tunisia, as a result of which 2 people lost their lives, while 13 were kidnapped.
