This threat was made by the Indian government during the peasant protests in India in 2020 and 2021:
Former CEO Twitter

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has revealed that the Indian government has threatened to shut down Twitter.

According to foreign media reports, Jack Dorsey said in an interview that the Indian government had threatened to shut down Twitter if it didn't follow the rules he had set.

Jack Dorsey, who will step down as Twitter CEO in 2021, said the Indian government had threatened to shut down Twitter in India and search employees' homes if the rules were not followed.

Jack Dorsey said the threat was made by the Indian government during peasant protests in India in 2020 and 2021.

The former CEO of Twitter said that India had clearly said that we will shut down Twitter in India, it was a big market for us, we would attack the homes of your employees while they were doing it. This is also the democracy of India.

On the other hand, the Indian government rejected Jack's claim and called it a lie.

India's junior IT minister said no Twitter employee has been jailed in India and Twitter has not been shut down in India. Jack Dorsey's Twitter tried to recognize India's integrity.
