A man named Ankush Dutta stayed in a hotel called the Roseate House in New Delhi for more than 600 days without making any payment.
The man stayed at the hotel from May 2019 to January 2021, with his rent amounting to 58 lakh Indian rupees.
He then left the hotel without paying the rent, after which the hotel filed a police report.
The hotel alleged that Ankush Dutta had not paid his dues and that Prem Prakash, an official at the hotel, helped accommodate the accused.
According to the report, Prem Prakash took money from Ankush Dutta and manipulated the hotel's software system, which allowed the defendant to stay longer without paying the rent.
Likewise, Ankush Dutta's stay was made possible by altering the accounts of other hotel guests.
Police officials said as per hotel rules, if a guest's charges exceed Rs 50,000, the staff must inform the supervisors.
