According to the agreement between Iran and the United States on the release of prisoners, Iran released 5 American citizens from prison and placed them under house arrest.

According to the US media, the US authorities confirmed the release of the citizens and said that the US citizens imprisoned in Iran are still under house arrest, negotiations are continuing for the return of the US citizens home.

The names of 3 of the 5 prisoners detained after release were given as Siamak Namazi, Imad Sharghi and Murad Tahbaz, while the identity of the other 2 was not disclosed.

Siamak Namazi (51) was first arrested in 2015 and sentenced to 10 years in prison on security charges, while the 58-year-old brother Imad Sharghi was arrested in April 2018, according to his sister.

The 67-year-old businessman and wildlife conservationist Murad Tahbaz was also arrested in January 2018 during a crackdown on environmental activists.

According to reports, the permission to leave the Americans from Iran is subject to the melting of 6 billion dollars of Iranian funds in South Korea.

According to foreign media reports, the United States will also release many Iranians imprisoned under the deal.

Iran has arrested and imprisoned a number of dual nationals on national security charges in recent years.

It should be noted that in March, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian expressed hope that there could be a prisoner swap deal with the United States, but at the time the United States dismissed his comments as false.

However, the White House has now said it welcomes the prisoner swap deal, but has repeatedly called for the full release of the prisoners.
