Galle Test Day 3: Play between Pakistan and Sri Lanka could not start due to rain

In response to Sri Lanka's 312 runs on the second day of the Galle Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Pakistan scored 221 runs losing 5 wickets


The third day of the first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium has been postponed. 

It is raining in Galle at this time, due to which the game could not start. It is being told that it is raining lightly but the game has been postponed due to the wet pitch. 

On the second day of the Galle Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Pakistan scored 221 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in response to Sri Lanka's 312 runs. Salman Ali Agha and Saud Shakeel will start on the third day of the match. 

Salman scored 61 off 84 balls, while Saud Shakeel scored 69 off 88 balls.

When the second day started yesterday, Sri Lanka had increased their score by 70 runs and the Sri Lankan team was dismissed for 312 runs in the first innings.

Dhananjay de Silva played a brilliant inning, scoring 122 runs with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. 

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed each took three wickets while Agha Salman took one wicket.

At the same time, the start of the Pakistani inning was not good and Abdullah Shafiq 19, Imamul Haq 1, Captain Babar Azam 13 and Sarfaraz Ahmed could only score 17 runs and Shan Masood could score 39 runs. 

Later, Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman showed responsible batting, as well as the match had to be stopped due to rain on the last day.

Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and elected to bat in a friendly match at Galle. 

Middle-order batsman Dhananjaya de Silva and veteran Angelo Mathews starred for Sri Lanka, scoring 65.4 overs on the first day despite rain twice. 

On the first day of the match, Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed three players while Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed and Agha Salman dismissed one player each. 

The second match of the two-match Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will begin in Colombo from 24 July.
