The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest Test cricket rankings, with Australian players taking the top three spots in the batsmen's rankings.

Australia's Marinus Labushin leads the Test batsmen's rankings while teammate Steve Smith has moved up to second.

Also in the final of the ICC World Test Championship, "player of the game" Travis Head managed to move up three places to reach third place.

If we look at the all-rounder rankings, India's Ravindra Jadeja is at number one while his compatriot Ravichandran Ashwin is at number two.

What is surprising about this new ranking is that for the first time in the history of cricket in 39 years, the top three places in the batsmen's rankings are occupied by players from the same team.

In early December 1984, West Indies batsmen Gordon Greenage, Clive Lloyd and Larry Gomes occupied first, second and third positions respectively.

New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson is fourth on the Test batsmen list, while Pakistan captain Babar Azam is fifth.

England batsman Joe Root is sixth in the batsman rankings while New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell is seventh. Dimuth Karunaratne of Sri Lanka is eighth while Australian batsman Usman Khawaja is ninth and Indian all-rounder Rishabh Pant is tenth. is e
