Currently, Dubai's Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, but it will soon be overtaken by Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Tower.

Construction of the Jeddah Tower began in 2013, but work was halted for many years.

But now the Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) has announced to resume the construction of the Jeddah Tower.

When this building is completed, it will be the tallest building in the world with a height of 3,280 feet.

It should be noted that the height of the 163-story Burj Khalifa is 2,722 feet.

According to media reports, JEC will hire a construction company to resume construction of the Jeddah Tower and bid for it by the end of 2023.

Due to years of delays and financial problems, the tower, which was first proposed in 2008, has not yet been completed, but with this new development it looks like it will be finished soon.

It was earlier announced that the Jeddah Tower work would be completed by 2019, but this was not possible.

The 170-story building will be equipped with a hotel, apartments, offices, outdoor decks and other structures.

Earlier, the cost of its construction was estimated at 2 billion dollars, but due to the lack of work for many years, it increased.

But it is not yet known how many billions of dollars will be spent on the construction of this building.
