The entire historic city of Lahaina was burned to ashes by a terrible fire in the forests of Maui County in the US state of Hawaii, while the number of people who died in various accidents reached 53. 

US Senator Brian Schatz from the state of Hawaii said in a message on social media that Lahaina is almost completely burned. 

According to the American media, hundreds of buildings were completely burned by the fire, due to the strong wind there is difficulty in extinguishing the fire. 

According to the US Coast Guard, it is reported that several people jumped into the sea to escape the flames, which were spread by strong winds, from which many people were rescued.

Maui Mayor Richard Bisson Jr. said several homes and businesses were completely destroyed, while a resident of Lahaina, a town of 12,000, told local media that all the boats on the beach were also burned to the ground. And the burning of the boats looked like a scene from a movie. 

Hundreds of people have been displaced by wildfires in Maui County in the US state of Hawaii.

On the other hand, US President Biden called the fire in the Hawaiian forests a great tragedy. 

According to American media, this is the second largest forest fire in the United States after 2018. In 2018, 85 people lost their lives in forest fires in California.
