Hollywood director Greta Grogg's film Barbie used so much pink that it caused a global shortage.

The name of the Barbie doll or doll is known to children all over the world and now a movie about her is coming out.

During an interview, director Greta Grogg and the film's production designer Sarah Greenwood discussed building Barbieland for the film.

This Barbieland is designed in line with the famous doll's dream house, using the color pink throughout.

Sarah Greenwood said the Barbie movie caused a worldwide shortage of pink paints.

Lorraine Proud, vice president of a paint company, also confirmed that all the pink paint our company had was used in the film, but the global shortage was due to the supply chain being disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic during the filming of the film.

This movie was shot in 2021.

The director of the film said that the use of bold pink is essential for the film and we wanted to use the bold color a lot.

Fortunately, the set designers were able to get enough paint for the film.

In this film, Margot Robbie stars as Barbie, while actor Ryan Gosselin plays the Ken doll.

The film releases worldwide on July 21.
